Five homes built to belong in a village that has remained largely unchanged for centuries.
St Giles Place sits in Graffham, a small village in the West Sussex foothills between Petworth and Midhurst. It is the kind of place where new building is rare, where the planning process is searching, and where the relationship between a new home and its surroundings is scrutinised carefully. Remmus built here, and built well.
The development comprises five homes — a mix of three and four-bedroom detached and semi-detached houses. The architecture responds directly to the vernacular of the village: materials, form, and roofline all considered in relation to what was already there. The homes are not designed to disappear into the landscape. They are designed to contribute to it.
In 2024, St Giles Place received a Highly Commended award from the Sussex Heritage Trust — a programme that recognises high quality new build, conservation, and restoration projects across Sussex. For a development in a setting as sensitive as Graffham, that recognition is not incidental. It is the point.
Petworth is a short drive. Midhurst is close. The South Downs National Park is on the doorstep.
