Meadow View House and Rosewood House sit at the end of a private road on the edge of Ardingly, a small West Sussex village set within the High Weald. The site looks out over open farmland, with views that shaped the orientation of both homes from the outset.

Ardingly is a village that has retained its rural identity. The South of England Showground sits just outside it. Ardingly Reservoir and the surrounding High Weald countryside are on the doorstep. It is the kind of location Remmus looks for: specific, unhurried, and not yet overbuilt.

The architecture takes a different direction to anything else in the Remmus portfolio. London stock brick, arched window surrounds and render detailing give both homes a classical Georgian and Regency character that responds to the scale and formality of the site. Both present a considered, formal face to the road; inside, the approach is more contemporary.

Wide-plank oak flooring runs through generous entrance halls and ground floor living spaces. The kitchens are individually designed with walnut islands, marble worktops and splashbacks, brass fittings, and integrated wine coolers. Bedrooms are calm and well-proportioned with good ceiling height throughout. Each home has a first-floor balcony looking out over the rear gardens and the farmland beyond.
